Another week in the books and more 240sx progress to update you guys on! Yesterday Tyler, TJ, and I got to work on the cars as the nice days of this year are fleeting so we are trying to make the most of it. On my car we got the clutch all bled thanks to the help of Tyler being the pedal man. Also go the radiator finally fully mounted, drilled out the snapped bolt and now it is fully secure. Shifter is all back together and the trim around it is assembled, starting to feel very much like a real car!

We ended up removing the overfenders off of TJ’s car as they were pretty much off anyways only being help on by tape. His car was a show car from what we have been told by the previous owner and what was told to him. Someone molded the overfenders and rear bumper on probably about 15 years ago and they were both showing their age.

With the overs off although it’s obviously unpainted and crappy looking it feels much better knowing it’s not caved in underneath them and not even cut! TJ’s plan is to bodywork the car over the winter so that it looks fresh for the upcoming season. Him and Tyler also managed to take it for the first test drive since the Link ECU install!
Next moving on to today I had big ambitions to get some items checked off my list and headed to the auto parts store early to get supplies. Grabbed some coolant, power steering fluid, vacuum line, IAC hose, and fuel hose clamps. Shortly after getting back I filled up the power steering reservoir and let it be. Did some small stuff like hooking up the IAC hose and the wastegate vac line. Went to go eat lunch and came back to a nice puddle of power steering fluid on the ground…great! Identified it was leaking from the feed flange connection on the pump, swapped the O ring but no dice. Thankfully I had another pump lying around and once I swapped them the leak was gone! Next up I installed the OEM bumper reinforcement, had to drill out a snapped stud and nut/bolt it but that sucker isn’t going anywhere now.

Also tried to mount up the intercooler but I’m unfortunately going to need to chop up the reinforcement. After some research it seems most people do end up needing to modify it but most remove it altogether. For me it’ll give peace of mind that it’s still there even if it’s a little cut up. Speaking of cut up I was able to salvage my headlight retaining ring that was barely hanging on to my rotted bucket.

Felt great to be able to save it and not have to spend $20 on a new OEM one. Last thing I got done today before heading inside was swapping over my reverse and speed sensors from my spare transmission. Got them all hooked up and now the only thing I should need to go under the car for is to finish hooking up the ground harness.

I’d really like to get the car on the ground and possibly even running and driving this week. My friend Wei is coming out to visit this coming Saturday with his hatch and all I wanna do is go somewhere and take pictures of the cars. I have another order from Faction on the way as I didn’t realize I needed some more things the first time I ordered. Throttle cable bracket, rear suspension hardware, and a radiator cap are all en route. If I can also find a hood this week I’m going to make the journey after work to go get it. Thanks for reading it means the world to me, I’ll update soon!
