I cracked my nuts at the bash…

I’ve been slacking hard on updating the blog although there really hasn’t been a whole lot for me to update on. I haven’t been doing much work on the car as Christmas presents have taken up some of my available fun money that is usually reserved for parts. Also I have made is a goal to have a set of bronze TE37’s on the 240 before next season. With that goal in mind I have been putting most of my spare money away for those. The most notable thing that has happened recently was Lock City’s Nutcracker Bash event held on the 14th of December.

Tyler and I were fortunate enough to be able to stash our cars inside a heated garage the night before the event. It made a huge difference on starting the cars in the morning as outside it was about 14 degrees but in the garage it was about 40. We got the cars started and met TJ at the gas station as this was going to be his first real drift event. He got the car tuned just two days prior at a local tuner in our area. Only real big issue for him was the fact that he had no heat in the car. The windshield kept freezing from the inside and he had to keep scraping it off but luckily we all made it with no incident. I didn’t take a lot of photo or video from the event so that’s how you know it was a good day. Thankfully for me Tyler was able to get some clips of my driving!

I was hanging around the skid pad towards the end of the day and there was only about 5 of us there. Dustin who is bussin was running the grid and he asked if I wanted to try something new. I’m always down for something fun and he let me try entering from halfway down the access road. Was very fun and I wish they could run it similar to this all the time!

I called it a day after a bunch of runs like that. Tyler’s day was unfortunately cut short due to the stud in his motor mount snapping and his drivetrain started hitting the body of the car and hood. TJ had a great day with his real only complaints being that it needed a proper alignment and a bucket seat. We made the journey home and I parked the car and haven’t touched it since. I’d like to get the miata over to my dad’s shop for winter storage inside soon. Other than that, the biggest current update is im in South Carolina for Christmas with Tyler and his family. This is really my first time leaving New England and this place is pretty neat. It would be interesting to see what drifting is like down here and possibly come back with the cars for an event!

Thanks for reading this it means a lot to me that you did! When I get back I’m going to start messing around with the 240 as it’s not going to be leaving the garage any time soon so I hope to have another update soon.
